Message from Rangam Leadership Team
This March as we recognize Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day, we celebrate our identity as a disability- and women-owned business, embracing this year’s theme of women who advocate for equity, diversity, and inclusion. These principles are woven into the fabric of Rangam, demonstrated by the pivotal roles that women occupy across our organization. Their leadership and contributions are instrumental in advancing our mission and fostering a more inclusive and equitable workplace.
This month, let us reaffirm our commitment to empowering women, championing their rights, and cultivating an environment where every individual, regardless of gender or ability, can flourish. We are incredibly thankful to the women of Rangam for leading the way with resilience and advocacy.

Gender Diversity Initiative in India
In 2023, organizations across India experienced a notable increase in gender diversity, with the representation of women in the workforce rising to 26% from 21% in 2021. This growth is especially significant in top workplaces, where the employment of women is 17% higher than in other organizations. The education & training and non-profit and charity sectors are leading in gender diversity, showcasing female representation at 45% and 47%, respectively. However, the transportation and manufacturing & production industries continue to lag behind, with only 13% and 9% of their workforce being female, respectively.
This month, Rangam is launching a gender diversity initiative to highlight the importance of women in the workplace. If you or your organization is interested in learning how Rangam can assist with diversity, click here to schedule a meeting today.

History of Women’s History Month
Did you know that Women’s History Month began as a Women’s History Week celebration in Santa Rosa, California?
The Education Task Force of the Sonoma County Commission on the Status of Women planned the first celebration in 1978. The movement soon took off, beginning celebrations in communities nationwide. In 1980, President Jimmy Carter issued a Presidential Proclamation declaring the week of March 8th as National Women’s History Week. In 1987, Congress passed a law recognizing March as Women’s History Month.
Today we honor Women’s History Month in many ways across the nation. As we celebrate the vibrant history and contributions of women in our communities and workplaces, we are reminded of the resilience of women and the value they bring to our lives every day.
