Turning Inclusion into Action: A Client’s Story

One of our clients, a top global pharmaceutical company, used SourceAbled to redefine what’s possible when organizations prioritize accessibility, belonging, and support for individuals with disabilities. Here’s how they did it…

In one of the manufacturing sites of our client, a quiet but powerful change was taking shape. Diversity had long been a part of the company’s DNA, but SourceAbled offered more than just a diversity hiring solution. It pledged to level the playing field for everyone, including those with disabilities seeking opportunities to succeed.

The Challenge: A Bigger Vision

Our client faced tough questions: How do you go beyond diversity to achieve real inclusion and belonging? How do you integrate individuals with disabilities into critical roles across manufacturing, research, and business services?

Geographic limitations made the challenge even greater. Initial efforts were focused on North America, leaving global aspirations on hold.

Internally, employees needed more than awareness; they needed tools, understanding, and confidence to create a culture of inclusion and belonging.

But rather than seeing these hurdles as setbacks, the client saw them as opportunities to lead change.

The Approach: Building an Ecosystem

Instead of taking half measures, they committed fully:

· Equipping employees: Over 10,000 employees underwent training to understand and champion inclusion.

· Personalized support: Every new hire with a disability received tailored accommodation and concierge support, ensuring they were set up for success from day one.

· Streamlining recruitment: A streamlined, tech-powered recruitment process removed roadblocks and connected talent with opportunity.

· Partnering with communities: By working closely with disability organizations, the client ensured the program addressed real needs.

The Result

The impact was clear and measurable:

· Success in hiring: Over 30 hires with disabilities in the first year, with a 94% retention rate.

· Cultural shifts: Trust in the company’s commitment soared, with a 200% rise in employees self-identifying as disabled.

· Recognition: Our client earned industry accolades, which reflected real change within their workforce.

During a company-wide town hall, SourceAbled was celebrated as a defining moment in the company’s journey toward creating inclusion and belonging.

Lessons and the Road Ahead

SourceAbled has been a success, but the journey isn’t over. Expanding globally to APAC and EMEA will require new strategies and partnerships.

Sustaining momentum means BOTH hiring AND supporting long-term growth and advancement for employees with disabilities.

Today, the client recognizes the need to embrace intersectionality, ensuring that inclusion efforts account for overlapping identities like race, gender, and socioeconomic background.
